چکیده
Argus II is the most advanced retina implants approved by US FDA and almost 350 visually impaired people are using it. This implant uses 60 microelectrodes implanted in retina. The goal of this to improve mobility quality life its users. However, users’ satisfaction not very high due low resolution phosphene images features created device. article proposes a system artificial vision visual implants. proposed method extracts information about around person image processing machine algorithms. includes number scene, whether they known or unknown, their gender, estimated ages, facial emotions, approximate distance from person. extracted frames received camera mounted on glasses user generate signals that fed into stimulator. shown schematic some pre-trained patterns phosphenes reflecting communicated user. validated with simulated prosthetic comprising 150 compatible cortex A low-cost energy efficient implementation executing Raspberry Pi 4 B at frame rate 4.5 frames/second shows feasibility it portable systems.

Computer Vision-based Object Recognition for the Visually Impaired Using Visual Tags
Recognizing generic objects in the surrounding environment is a major challenge for the visually impaired for which few assistive technological solutions have been devised to date. Nevertheless, in recent years, several computer vision-based strategies have emerged for this task which utilize visual tags affixed to objects for identification. These approaches are distinguished by their reliance...

National Eye Institute Visual Function Questionnaire or Indian Vision Function Questionnaire for visually impaired: a conundrum.
PURPOSE Both the long form visual functioning scale (LFVFS(39)) and visual functioning scale (VFS) are measures of visual functioning (VF) that represent the Rasch-scaled versions of the NEI-VFQ(39) and the Indian vision function questionnaire (IND-VFQ), respectively. The objectives of this study were to investigate if the 15-item LFVFS(39) and 13-item VFS of the IND-VFQ meet the assumptions of...
متن کاملWearable Real-Time Stereo Vision for the Visually Impaired
Visually impaired find their navigation difficult as they often lack the needed information for bypassing obstacles and hazards. Electronic Travel Aids (ETAs) are devices that use sensor technology to assist and improve the blind user’s mobility in terms of safety and speed. Modern ETAs does not provide distance information directly and clearly. This paper proposes a method for determining dist...
متن کاملA stereo vision-based aid for the visually impaired
This paper describes a portable vision-based obstacle detection system, intended for use by blind people. The system combines an obstacle detection system designed for AGVs with recalibration of ground position and a Kalman Filter based model of the person’s walking movement. The system uses stereo vision. Obstacle detection is achieved through comparison of the disparity seen with that expecte...
